NHL Frozen Frenzy 2026: 4 Hockey Card Bounties on Courtyard

For years, NFL RedZone has dominated football Sundays. Now, hockey fans have their own day to sit back, relax, and take in the action from every single team in the league.

Enter: Frozen Frenzy.

On Tuesday, October 13th, all 32 NHL teams will take the ice on the same night—the fourth consecutive season hockey fans have been blessed with the annual whiparound show. While the program doesn’t have Scott Hanson—or the famed octo-box—the RedZone host is in full support of the one-night-only event that takes the already break-neck pace of hockey to another level. Now, for the first time, Courtyard is getting in on the fun, too.

Last week, baseball fans got their first taste of The Lineup, a limited-time event jam-packed with bounties placed throughout a number of Courtyard’s Baseball Packs. Today, The Lineup event returns with a special hockey edition. Four packs, four bounties, four ways to chase cards from hockey’s brightest stars. Just make sure you don’t blink, or you might miss this lightning quick 24-hour event before it’s gone.

From the boards to the blue line, center ice and the back of the net, it’s time to blow the whistle and let the latest NHL Frozen Frenzy begin!

What is Hockey: The Lineup – Frozen Frenzy Edition?

Since 2023, the NHL has added some extra flavor to the first month of the season by playing 16 games in a single night. No more waiting for Dylan Larkin’s next home game in Detroit, or Jason Robertson’s next goal; every team takes the ice, and fans get all the action they can handle.

So how do you watch?

Frozen Frenzy is the NHL’s answer to NFL RedZone, and it was created by none other than The Mothership: ESPN. The whip-around show bounces from rink to rink so fans don’t miss a moment, from big hits to lamp-lighting goals. Tune in to ESPN2 on Tuesday, October 13th at 5:00 p.m. ET for five hours of continuous coverage hosted by John Buccigross and Keavin Weekes, or stream the action on Disney+ and the ESPN App. For those that want to watch the individual games, ESPN will be broadcasting a tripleheader beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET: New Jersey Devils vs. Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars, and Boston Bruins vs. San Jose Sharks.

How can hockey fans get in on Frozen Frenzy, you ask? Hockey: The Lineup is Courtyard’s one-day answer to the NHL’s one-night drama. To start, we selected four of the NHL’s best players, the superstars fans love to watch, and dropped a slab of each into one of Courtyard’s four evergreen Hockey Packs. Pull any one of the four—and hold onto the card until the event ends Wednesday morning, and you’ll receive a bounty on top of your brand new hockey grail.

The Four Bounties: Chase Upper Deck Young Guns and Courtyard Points

There’s one bounty per pack, climbing from the Pro Pack to the Platinum Pack, and every bounty card is a Young guns rookie, hockey’s benchmark rookie card since 1990. When it comes to Frozen Frenzy, we’re not playing around!

Here’s what you’re chasing during this one-day event:

Pull a bounty card, and you’ve got Courtyard Points and a premier rookie card from one of the game’s greats in your collection.

Grail Hockey Cards from Macklin Celebrini, Cale Makar, Sidney Crosby, and Alexander Ovechkin

Every bounty in tonight’s Hockey: The Lineup event is among the best in the league—including two Stanley-Cup-winning superstars that have already locked up a future trip to the Hall of Fame. Here’s the latest from each of the players you’re chasing:

  • Macklin Celebrini, San Jose Sharks: The 20-year-old was named Sharks captain this fall after a franchise-record 115-point season, and he opened 2026-27 with five assists in San Jose's first two games, both overtime wins. He missed the team’s third and fourth games with an injury, but returned to the ice against the Oilers, scoring a goal in a 3-1 loss. He’ll be out there tonight against the Boston Bruins.
  • Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche: The Avs have scored 26 goals in their first five games, the most by any team through five games since the 1993-94 Kings. Makar has already notched three goals and four assists.
  • Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins: Sid the Kid is in his 22nd NHL season and is now the longest-tenured captain in league history at 20 seasons. What will this Penguins team be doing in April?
  • Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals: At 41, Ovi came back on a one-year deal with 929 career regular-season goals, so every one he scores this season extends his own all-time record. Now that he’s announced his retirement, we should all enjoy the last ride of the Russian Machine.
